Working principle of electric fuel injector
1. Static closing stage: the electromagnet is not electrified, and the hemispherical plane valve tightly seals the seat surface under the action of spring force. Since the fuel entering cavity a has the same pressure (common rail) as the fuel entering cavity B, and the hydraulic force area of the valve rod end face is far greater than that of the needle valve end, the resultant force acting on the whole moving parts is downward. At this time, the needle valve seat tightly seals the injection hole, and there is no injection.
2. Injection stage: when the electromagnet is electrified, an upward electromagnetic force is generated. At this time, the electromagnetic force attracts the armature disc to move upward, and the hemispherical plane valve is pushed open under the action of high-pressure fuel. The high-pressure fuel in chamber a quickly returns oil through the seat face, and the oil pressure in chamber a drops sharply. However, the fuel in the cavity of needle valve end B still keeps the pressure close to the rail pressure, so the resultant force acting on the whole moving parts is upward, forcing the needle valve to lift up, and the high-pressure fuel is injected into the combustion chamber through the injection hole to realize the injection.
With the solenoid valve continuously energized, the injector continuously injects fuel.
3. Stop injection: once the electromagnet stops electrifying, the electromagnetic force generated by the electromagnet disappears immediately, and the armature core forces the hemispherical plane valve to tightly seal the seat surface under the action of spring force. At this time, the oil pressure in chamber a increases rapidly until it is close to the oil pressure in the oil rail. The resultant force acting on the whole moving part turns downward, and the needle valve seat tightly seals the spray hole and stops fuel injection.
