The side cover of pump body, oil dipstick, filling plug (respirator), oil overflow valve, oil pool plug, oil level screw, oil pump fixing bolt, etc. to ensure that they are intact, these accessories play an important role in the work of the fuel injection pump. For example, the side cover can prevent the invasion of dust, water and other impurities, the respirator (with filter screen) can effectively prevent the deterioration of engine oil, and the oil overflow valve can ensure that the fuel system has a certain pressure without entering air. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the maintenance of these accessories, and timely repair or replace them in case of damage or loss.

The quantity and quality of the oil in the oil pool of the fuel injection pump should be checked regularly.

Before starting the diesel generator, check the quantity and quality of the oil in the fuel injection pump (except for the oil injection pump with forced lubrication by the engine) to ensure that the oil quantity is sufficient and the quality is good. If the oil deteriorates due to mixing water or diesel oil, the plunger and the oil delivery valve couple will be worn in the early stage, resulting in insufficient diesel power, difficult start-up and even plunger and oil delivery Corrosion and corrosion of valve coupling parts. Due to internal leakage of oil pump, poor operation of oil outlet valve, wear of tappet and shell of oil transfer pump, and damage of sealing ring, diesel oil will leak into the oil pool and dilute the engine oil. Therefore, it is necessary to replace the oil in time according to the quality of the oil. When replacing, the oil pool should be thoroughly cleaned to remove the oil sludge and other impurities at the bottom of the oil pool. Otherwise, the engine oil will deteriorate again after a short time of use. The quantity of engine oil should not be too much or too little. Too much oil in the governor will easily lead to “runaway” of diesel engine. Too little oil will lead to poor lubrication. The oil dipstick or oil level screw shall prevail. In addition, when the diesel engine is not used for a long time, it is necessary to check whether there are water, diesel and other impurities in the oil pool of the oil pump. If there is any, it should be replaced immediately. Otherwise, due to the long-term storage, the plunger and outlet valve coupling parts are easily corroded and stuck and scrapped.
